In my large format pictures I often work in "series"--returning again and again to the same subject in different seasons, different weather, etc. I never have the urge to present these as combined images. The sense of a series of single pictures seems correct.
I found this interesting light and shot a bunch of captures in rapid succession as different vehicles passed through. When I went to edit, I found I was more interested in these three as a group than in finding the "best" shot. I also think if I made a triptych from it I'd run them on top of each other--rather like they appear on the blog--so the triptych would be a vertical scroll. What do you think?
Well, the classical triptych should lead to some sort of a triangular composition, which these images do not at first hand.
The idea of putting them vertically is good, especially with the yellow motorbike and its headlights in the middle as a natural attraction point for the view, and this would be probably more triptych like then arranging the pictures horizontally - which would then develop in a series.
My gut feeling sees this pictures as really strong, but still my brains could not come up with the right words to describe this. For one its the lighting situation and the stretched three dimensionality, but also the contrast of the vehicles colors against the brownish tones of the constructional elements. Guess I will brood on this triplet a little bit more...
