Both work really well for me - the red/green contrast is the one thing, the other are those lines/diagonals. Oh yes, and that fine parking meter in #1 is like a forgotten pedestrian, standing and staring

Thanks Markus. Parking meters can be strangely anthropomorphic at times.

Yes, and this characteristic evolved only in the twin parking meters - the original single units are a strict form-following-function thingie, but and only coupling them together gave that unintended face shape.

Here they are rare in the meantime, replaced by electronic ticket dispensers.
