At the Library

Woodbury, Connecticut

Checking email and web sites, charging phones and computers and camera batteries. This morning the CL&P outage listing web page appears to be crashed. There are bucket trucks out on the roads, many from out of state, but service restoration remains slow, may not be finished before next week. It was 47.6 degrees this morning in the kitchen. It went up a couple of tenths when I heated some water to wash dishes and made oatmeal on the gas range stove top which, by careful planning when we bought it last year, can be lit with a match. The oven relies on electronics so only stove top cooking is available, but soups and such are just what you want to eat in a cold house.

Well, your situation just plain sucks! There is no doubt about it. We wereout for four days courtesy of Isabelle and one due to Irene. Major problem was water, we're on a well. But it was warm not below 50! At least with Irene we had experience so managed to store water.

Hang in there.
