Ducks!

Saint-Laurent, Île d'Orléans, Quebec

This is the view from the south shore of the island down toward Quebec City, from the riverside home of our host Sunday night. The pier serves a ferry that has no regular service. There is only one bridge to the island, and the ferry port is there to serve in emergencies should something happen to the bridge. Later this evening, a fierce wind and high tide drove waves right over the pier, an amazing thing to watch.
